In daily life our foot endures force and compression comparable to hundreds of loads, which is why it is important to keep them healthy and clean. You can be easily invaded by fungus affecting the sole of the foot and the region between the toes also known as tinea. The common skin condition that harmfully affects upper layer of skin of the foot when open to moisture and the irritation is identified as Athlete’s foot.

To diagnose athlete’s foot, the foot will be visually observed by the sports medicine doctor. Usually adequate observations are done for diagnosis, sometimes a skin scraping and microscopic analysis can give confirmation of fungal infection. Primarily the treatment involves prescription anti-fungal cream, spray, or powder which ordinarily heals the infection over a progress of few weeks. But in problematic cases, some routines and procedures of oral anti fungal cure is recommended by the doctor.Also in circumstance of subordinated bacterial infection, oral antibiotics will be prescribed.

The best prevention for athlete’s foot is by maintaining a good foot hygiene, which consist of keeping your foot dry and clean.
